Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients

The Grave Allegations

One senior prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Investigation

The charges come after what police called a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.

Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

  • 17 counts of assault by penetration.
  • 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
