The combatants are exulting in a atrocity that humanitarian officials fear killed over 2,000 people in the Sudan's urban center of el-Fasher during October.

A City Isolated from the World

Having held the urban area under encirclement for almost two years, from August the militia moved to reinforce its dominance and restrict the surviving residents.
